Although it's great, it is hard living out of a hotel room and not being home.
Ok, one funny thing regarding language problem. We usually can find someone who speaks passable English. I was trying to find someone to vacuum our a little better and couldn't get it across to a couple of housekeepers. Finally I thought I did by making a vacuuming motion. When we got back to the room a couple of hours later, there was a nice stroller they provided! Very funny!
Yesterday was a fun day. We went to the Embroidery Museum (the Hunan province where we are is very well known for this) with our guide Peter. He is a great guy. Has plans for the mornings for us every day, then he leaves us alone for the afternoon, then we eat dinner with him right across from the hotel in a restaurant (it's Chinese). The photo of Mao we posted as well as the others that look like paintings are embroidery - the work they do is amazing.
So we got some nice culture. Then we went to Walmart, which I think was just as amazing. Walmart with items for the Chinese, including a lot of fresh fish and who knows what else.
Mia is doing great. She is getting more used to me- we played roll the big beach ball for a while yesterday. Lucie, I bet today I'll be in some pictures! She is very feisty, likes to babble, and is very energetic, especially in the afternoons.
Today we are going to a park along the river.
Thanks to everyone for following our journey and for posting to the blog. We enjoy reading everyone's comments.

Congratulations Tracey, Eric and Mia. What a beautiful family! Your experience sounds wonderful and the pictures are amazing. Nicholas is sitting next to me saying Oh, Oh, baby, baby. I think he has a crush. Wishing you a safe journey home- Jennifer
We are so enjoying your Mia updates ! The sleeping photos are especially beautiful ... I loved the hair explanation, Trace, although you look great. Vivek wants to know if they have good Chinese food where you are ? : )
Lots of love,

Your postings and photos have been the office happiness of late... we are all so excited to meet Mia! (I am also very much interested in more details about this WalMart - do they carry the theme of "Made in the USA" over there?)
Anywho, so glad to see you three together at last!

Tracey, Eric and Mia,
Congratulations! We are so happy for you all. I just got caught up reading about your travels and looking at all the pictures because we were away. I love the pictures, especially the ones of you two sleeping! I can't wait for tomorrow's update. By the way, your hair looks great.

Hi to you guys and my beautiful granddaughter!
Sorry we missed your call last evening. I as so upset but we were packing as we are off to Boston for a quick Labor Day trip and of course, my phone was downstairs charging. Cranky huh! Not to worry, just Little Mia showing some of her personality to the doting parents. Have a great weekend as you are on to your next adventure. We will be thinking of you while soaking up the history and Fenway in Boston. Will have lots to catch up on when we return on Monday. Take care, travel safe and we love you.
Mom
Hey there!! I am just loving following your journey. Mary was looking at my computer last night and said, "Mommy that is Ms. Tracey and her baby!!" We have been talking about you and praying for your family daily. May the love you share already continue to grow. May the Lord watch over you and bless you! See you soon!!
